The project tells the story of an abandoned iPhone 5c in a thrift market, exploring digital nostalgia and emotional connection. Through interactive functionality, the iPhone asks users questions like, “Who are you?” “Where is my owner?” and more as they uncover its journey. These questions lead users to explore its past and the emotional depth of its story.

Problem Statement
In a fast-paced digital world, personal devices are quickly replaced and discarded, often without reflection on the emotional and human connections they once held. There is a lack of storytelling that captures the sentimental value of our everyday technology.
Solution
It combines storytelling with physical computing by modifying the iPhone 5c’s display to present reflective questions and memories. This tactile interaction invites viewers to engage directly with the device, creating an emotional and immersive experience that brings its forgotten story to life.
Key Features
• Modified iPhone 5c display as storytelling interface
• Physical computing integration for interaction
• Story told through questions, texts, and digital memories
• Nostalgic narrative from the phone’s perspective
• Emotion-driven design highlighting digital attachment
Takeaway
• Everyday objects can hold deep emotional stories
• Physical computing can enhance narrative immersion
• Perspective shifts (like a phone’s point of view) spark empathy
• Interactivity strengthens user connection with storytelling
• Nostalgia is a powerful tool for emotional engagement
